Quick Reference

The state of degeneracy attained when the density of matter is so high that neutrons cannot be packed any more closely together. The effect is analogous with that of electron degeneracy, but the density required for neutron degeneracy (about 1017 kg/m3) is much higher, and is encountered only in neutron stars.
