A radio observatory near the town of Parkes in New South Wales, Australia, owned and operated by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). It consists of a 64-m diameter radio dish opened in 1961. As well as radio astronomy, it is used for tracking space probes. Since 1988 it has been part of the Australia Telescope National Facility.
