The advocacy groups, organizations, and individuals who uphold the rights of women to make their own free choices about reproduction, their right to decide for themselves whether to become and to remain pregnant. It uses political action and education about human sexuality, reproduction, and contraceptive methods, and advocates access to and provision of facilities for contraception and, when necessary, access to safe abortion facilities. The pro-choice movement is generally more political than educational. See also pro-life movement.
