Quick Reference

The complete removal of the pulp tissue from the pulp chamber and root canal system. It is a treatment option for irreversible pulpitis. Pulpectomy may be undertaken in the primary dentition to maintain the tooth free of infection, to biomechanically cleanse and obturate the root canals, to promote physiologic root resorption, and to maintain the space for the permanent successor tooth.
