An electronic system for tracking a radiosonde, providing azimuth and altitude (elevation) readings. These may be used in conjunction with the height (derived from the telemetry) to estimate wind vectors (the radio wind), although generally to a lesser degree of accuracy than those obtained by radar methods (see radar wind.)
