(b Chieti, 26 Aug 1761; d Naples, 7 Dec 1833). Italian gem-engraver and medallist. He was active in Rome from 1776 and returned in 1787 to Naples, where he gained commissions from the Bourbon and later the Napoleonic courts and from 1804 worked for the Zecca (mint), of which he became director in 1829. In 1808, in his capacity as Director of the Scuola di Incisone in Gemme, he became the fifth director of the Naples Pietre Dure Factory (see Naples, §1).
