German theatre designer. Having been invited to design Cranko's Stuttgart production of Romeo and Juliet in 1962, he went on to design many other Cranko ballets including Swan Lake (1963), Onegin (1965), and the Stuttgart production of The Merry Widow (1971). His numerous designs for other choreographers included Tudor's Giselle (Berlin Opera Ballet, 1963), Franca's Nutcracker (National Ballet of Canada, 1964), MacMillan's Concerto (Berlin Opera Ballet, 1966), Neumeier's Baiser de la fée (Frankfurt, 1972), Romeo and Juliet (Royal Danish Ballet, 1974), Sleeping Beauty (Hamburg, 1978), and Lady of the Camellias (Stuttgart, 1978).
