Prevalence of antibodies in a population as determined by serological surveys, a useful method of assessing levels of resistance and susceptibility to infectious pathogens. In the past, seroprevalence surveys were used to assess levels of susceptibility or resistance to common infectious diseases, such as poliomyelitis. Now a frequent use is in unlinked anonymous HIV testing.
