The feline ancestor of the Juruna, an Indian tribe living along the Xingu River in Brazil. Sinaa's father was an enormous jaguar, his mother a woman. For an unknown reason both father and son had eyes set in the back of their heads. Sinaa was very old, ‘but he became young again each time he took a bath, pulling his skin off over his head like a sack’. The end of the world will come, according to the Juruna, when Sinaa finally decides to pull down the enormous forked stick that supports the sky.
