Quick Reference

A DNA molecule in which there is only one chain of nucleotides, not the standard complementary base-paired strands of the double-helical form. Heat denaturation of double-stranded DNA causes the strands to separate and the kinetics of reannealing (see C0t curve) are informative about the degree of repetition. Parvoviridae have a single-stranded DNA genome.
