A module or laboratory on Earth that artificially imitates the conditions found in space. Devices can replicate microgravity or simulate other conditions in a spacecraft. Microgravity simulators include the drop tower and NASA's Sonny Carter Training Facility. Command module and lunar module simulators were used by the Apollo astronauts prior to their missions in the 1960s and 1970s.
