squat thrust

Quick Reference

An exercise to develop lower-body muscles and aerobic fitness. From a standing position, the subject squats down with arms outside the knees and body supported on hands and toes. The legs are thrust backwards into the press-up position with the back kept straight. Then the legs are moved forwards so they come to rest under the arms. The backwards and forwards movements are repeated a variable number of times, but the hands are kept in the same position. The subject finishes the exercise by standing up.
