[G. B. Stickler (1925–), German–American paediatrician] A progressive hereditary disease of connective tissue with onset at birth affecting ears, eyes, and joints. It is characterized by degenerative changes in the joints, cleft palate, bifid uvula, and progressive loss of sight.
