Quick Reference

A relatively easy exercise often used as part of a cool-down routine to reduce muscle tension.

▪ Lie flat on your back. Gently stretch out until your arms and legs are fully extended. Slowly raise and bend your arms, trunk, and legs so that you assume a crouched position with your arms wrapped around your knees, the heels of your feet tucked under your buttocks, and your head tucked forwards between your arms. Make yourself into as small a ball as possible. Hold for about 5 seconds then slowly lower yourself back down to the starting position. Repeat the exercise three or four times. The key to this exercise is to move in a relaxed manner, very smoothly and slowly.
