A region of the neck immediately below the body of the mandible which contains the submandibular gland; it is bounded above by the lower border of the body of the mandible and a line drawn from its angle to the mastoid process, anteriorly by the anterior belly of the digastric muscle, and posteriorly by the posterior belly of the digastric muscle.
