*Esterases that catalyse the hydrolysis of sulphate esters; e.g. aryl sulphatase A (cerebroside-sulphatase, EC 3.1.6.8, 507 aa) is a lysosomal enzyme that breaks down cerebroside 3-sulphate, and N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulphatase (EC 3.1.6.4, 522 aa) hydrolyses sulphate groups of chondroitin sulphate and keratan sulphate. See multiple sulphatase deficiency.
