Quick Reference

A formal role that can be taken by anyone with experience in an organization. It is a person who takes a long-term, direct interest in the development of a more junior employee, and who is there to guide, listen and advise. The mentor is not normally the employee's line manager, so there is no direct reporting relationship between the two individuals.

Subjects: Business and Management.
