Italian mathematician specializing in the mathematics of finance. Bonferroni was educated at U Turin. His first post was at Turin Polytechnic. He was appointed Professor first at U Bari (1923) and then at U Florence (1933). He was an excellent musician and, in his younger days, a keen glacier climber.
