The adding together of marks awarded for separate pieces of a student's assessed work within an assessment scheme. In national curriculum testing or on a programme of study made up of a number of individually assessed modules or units, for example, an aggregate summative assessment for the student will be arrived at by a calculation based on all the marks they have been awarded.
