An Oxford man who in 1688 inherited papers belonging to a Gloucestershire clergyman, William Fulman, including notes on Shakespeare. Davies added the first account of Shakespeare's deer-stealing from Sir Thomas Lucy, and the statement that Shakespeare ‘died a papist’.
