Ballet in one act with choreography by Feld, music by Brahms, and design by Stanley Simmons. Premiered 29 Jun. 1969 by American Ballet Company in Spoleto with Sarry, Lee, Stirling, Sowinski, Figueroa, and Coll. This plotless setting of Brahms's piano music Opp. 39, 117, No. 3 and 118, No. 3 is danced by three couples with the pianist as part of the action. It has been revived for several companies including National Ballet of Canada and American Ballet Theatre (both 1972), Stuttgart Ballet (1975), and New York City Ballet (2006).
