Quick Reference

[Te]

Method of fixing the position of a defined point in the horizontal plane by measuring its distance from two points whose position is already established (e.g. grid pegs) and calculating with trigonometry or plotting on paper the third point. When using the paper method the new point can be plotted by scaling the measured distance from each of the known points with a compass so that the new point is the position where the arcs intersect.
