Quick Reference

An E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase (465 aa). The PARK2 gene is mutated in autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson's disease. The parkin coregulated gene (PACRG) encodes a protein (257 aa), probably also linked to the ubiquitin/proteosome system. p53-associated parkin-like cytoplasmic protein (PARC, 2517 aa) has a C-terminal region with high homology to parkin and a domain with homology to cullin and anchors p53 in the cytoplasm of lung carcinoma cells. See synphilin.
