He is relieved to find that Jupiter, in love with Eurydice, arranges for her to remain there for ever. Created (1858) by Mons. Tayau.

2 (Birtwistle: The Second Mrs Kong). Counterten. ‘Forever singing his loss’, he loses his head, which is rescued by Kong, who helps him in his search for Eurydice. Created (1994) by Michael Chance. See also Orfeo.
