Quick Reference

A brochure produced by a school, college, or university, whose contents are often replicated on their web site, which sets out information about the institution and the provision it offers. All maintained schools are required by law to produce a prospectus for the benefit of parents and others, and to include in it information on the school's admissions policy and the policy relating to pupils with special educational needs. The document may also contain the governors' annual report in part or in full, and details of the school's national curriculum, General Certificate of Secondary Education, and General Certificate of Education Advanced Level results. Universities and other institutions of higher education may produce separate prospectuses for undergraduate and for postgraduate provision. It is normal practice for larger institutions such as colleges and universities to provide an online prospectus as well as a hard‐copy edition.
