Ballet in three acts with choreography by Nĕmeček, libretto by J. Rey, music by J. Burghauser, and design by V. Heller. Premiered 9 May 1958, Tyl Theatre, Prague, with Kǔra. Based on Goldoni's comedy, it became one of the most popular ballets in the Czech repertoire, also appearing in different versions throughout the Eastern Bloc. Fenster also used Goldoni's play as a basis for The False Bridegroom (mus. Chulaki, Maly Theatre, Leningrad, 1946).
