The Internet and advances in computer hardware and software have been transforming the way school psychologists work. How does technology make psychologists’ time more efficient, or allow psychologists to do things that would have not been possible or would have been more time consuming without computers and the Internet? Internet search engines, e-book readers, podcasts, blogs, webinars, email, and electronic forums are among the current tools that school psychologists use. These digital tools are covered in the first section of the chapter. The second and third sections examine how various technologies facilitate and/or contribute to improvements in the delivery of psychological interventions and psychological assessment/report writing. The fourth section addresses digital tools and how they have increased opportunities for professional development and the capacity of university professors in school psychology training programs to work with students. Another issue examined in the fourth section is open access to scientific findings and practice–research networks. Finally, concluding comments are offered on technology diffusion and ethical issues associated with the new technologies.
