This article looks at the ethical dimensions of public policy. The sections in this article try to illustrate some of the major points on which public policy unavoidably makes ethical judgments. Time, inequality of benefit, and benefit of harm are some of the points discussed in the article. The article shows that these judgments can be made using media fashion, conventional wisdom, public opinion, religious tradition, personal bias, or systematic ethical analysis as a basis.
