Ceolwulf (d. 611?), king of the Gewisse, was the son of Cutha (probably Cuthwulf), son of Cynric. He ruled in succession to his brother Ceol. The annals of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle allot him a reign of fourteen years, but the West Saxon genealogical regnal list preserves a separate tradition of a reign of seventeen years, which may simply have resulted from a confusion between the Roman numerals XIIII and XVII.
