This chapter formulates a consistent set of basic policy perspectives regarding the relevant societal fields: the promotion of the normative concept of ‘strong democracy’ and the Complete Combination Model as a policy model for a democratic division of labour; an integrated full employment policy for all men and women in the professional population; adequate societal provisions for children and young people; adequate societal provisions for adults; an efficient combination policy in organisations; and efficient data systems concerning the daily life of men and women from a life course perspective. This chapter concludes that adequate data is necessary to construct decent quantitative measures or indicators as the basis for useful empirical models. These models are necessary to picture the actual development of the daily division of professional and family life in the different (types of) countries, with sufficient attention to both the similarities and differences.
