This chapter deals with the story of Syima Merali. Syima thought about wearing the hijab a good year and a half or two years before she actually put it on. She has been wearing it for quite a long time now, but has actually thought about taking it off, and at one point got really close to doing so. Her family opened the restaurant nearly three years ago now and last year starting selling alcohol. This for her was very much a turnaround on a principle. Syima's life has been full of challenges, none more so than when she was told she had breast cancer. When she heard this, she was terrified for her daughter. One of the first things Syima did when she was diagnosed was to buy the complete set of the Narnia books for her daughter.
