This chapter examines information policy, starting with the promotion of claims to benefits. This is followed by a section on the reasons why some claims are being hindered and a discussion on inherent problems in informing those who are eligible but are not claiming their entitlements. The link between information and citizenship is examined in the last portion of the chapter. It concludes that information policy is a strong influence on which claimants are able to exercise their rights.
