This chapter describes the genus Neorhabdus. It reports that the species of this genus had been referred to as Hemirhabdus until Heptner (1972b) recognized the differences of the species of this genus from the latter and placed them in a new genus, Neorhabdus. It notes however that Neorhabdus is most closely related to Hemirhabdus and it shares common features. The chapter describes the differences by which the genera can readily be distinguished from each other. It notes that the differences are found in Mx2, in the cephalosome in the lateral view, in antenna structures, in endophal segment, and in inner lobes and exopods, in P1, P3, and P4, and in geniculate.
