This chapter examines several species of Neotropical Plecoptera stoneflies described in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. These include the Gripopteryx tesselata Brauer, Perla luteicollis Walker, and Onychoplax limbatella Klapálek. The chapter explains that some Plecoptera species remain dubious because the original descriptions are too incomplete and the types for some species have been lost, and the names should be considered forgotten.
