This chapter focuses on the Tricorythidae family of mayflies in Africa. It provides historical background of the classification of Afrotropical Tricorythidae, and proposes the presence of two new Tricorythidae genera in Africa based on sexual dimorphism manifest in the relative eye size of mature male and female nymphs and adults, and on the structure of the genitalia of adult males. The chapter stresses the need to conduct more research on the African Tricorythidae in order to resolve subtle differences between the nymphs of species in the two new genera.
