The Types and Distribution of Setae on the Larval Legs of Neoperla Geniculata

Show Summary Details

This chapter investigates the morphology and distribution of setae on each segment of the larval legs in Neoperla geniculata using a scanning electron microscope. It discusses observations on ventral and dorsal surfaces of the femur, tibia, and the third tarsus of all legs, and describes five types of setae found along the different leg segments. These five setae types on the larval legs have similar structures and distributions between the early larvae and the final instar larvae, except for setal density.
