This chapter examines the works Victor Considerant carried out to promote socialism in France. It suggests that Considerant's reputation as a theorist of socialism rested largely upon on a few pamphlets. His most notable works include the La Destinée Sociale and Manifeste politique et social de la Démocratie pacifique. This chapter also discusses Considerant's efforts to soften and cleanse Charles Fourier's thought through social criticism and in his discussion of the ideal community that Fourier called the Phalanx.
