This concluding chapter briefly discusses the imagery of the meXicanas that are present in the cultural landscape. It looks at the questions about how the nation defines itself, and discusses sexual and racial othering in cultural representations. The attitudes of the nation towards its Mexican “others” and the transformative possibilities that are available to California immigrants are also discussed.
