This chapter discusses the immigrant process and provides a comparison of wage trends of foreign- and native-born workers in the five urban immigrant regions. It shows that the regional comparison reveals a very different image of the widening economic division between the native- and foreign-born than is indicated in national trends. The author points out that a differential change in wage structures implies that the division betweeb native- and foreign-born work in dual labor markets has cemented over the past ten years.
