In 1916, after the tragic war at Verdun, Claire found herself engaged in a complex set of high-level negotiations, both divine and human. Claire had been called to Poitiers. For the first time in her life, she would be asked to account for herself and her visions in a rigorous and systematic way. At the same time, her mission to save France was beginning to take shape. This chapter discusses Claire's steps to becoming the next Joan of Arc. However, unlike Joan, who led armies to victory, Claire was tasked to be the messenger of God. In addition, the chapter narrates the episcopal inquiry of Claire wherein Claire like Joan of Arc was subjected to inquiry in order to determine the legitimacy of her visions.
