This chapter examines the various juvenile protection programs that have been introduced and enacted for the past century, looking at the changes these programs went through and noting that the juvenile-protection project as a whole revealed a high degree of ideological consistency. It also explains why the number of adolescents entering the workforce has decreased and looks at the exercise of social authority over youth in Japan.
