The reason that malformed frogs generated so much public interest was the possibility that what was happening to frogs could happen to humans. It then becomes useful to review human malformations or congenital anomalies in light of frog malformations. In this chapter, the present types and known causes of human congenital anomalies are discussed. The types and causes of human malformations are also compared with those of amphibian malformations.
