This chapter discusses the kinds of relationships that pilgrims develop at Husain Tekrī. It suggests that Husain Tekrī's power is partly derived from its unique ability to function as a place in which the other is encountered narratively, bodily, and ritually, and in daily life. The chapter takes a look at the complex range of interactions that create “imagined” and “actual” communities, which are central to the dargāh culture.
