This chapter examines the or letter [r]. When one speaks in the Arabic language, it comes out as though it is doubled, and the ‘pause’ adds to its clarity. Arabs do not incline words spoken as though there are two [r]s ‘open with an [a]’. If the [r] is after an [A], it is inclined if there is a letter after it other than [r]. The chapter also considers cases where [r] should be raised or erected.
