This concluding chapter sums up the key findings of this study on film experience as altered state based on the philosophical writings of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. It suggests that Deleuze and Guattari's affective theoretical writing is an altered state in itself and proposes possible futures for cinematic affect, alterity and Deleuzian film studies. The analysis of cinematic altered states reveals the limitations of language to grasp the affective quality of the art encounter as an altered state.
