This concluding chapter discusses nostalgia in Sassoon’s post-war works. It notes that even though the Second World War obscured Sassoon’s nostalgic vision, it did not limit other manifestations of modern nostalgia. The chapter studies the argument that trauma and nostalgia are crucially linked, considers the concepts of absence and loss, and also shows that Sassoon’s later work demonstrates modern nostalgia, which is an incident connected to the aftermath of world war.
