This chapter examines Sebald's inclusion of present disciplinary practices into an archaeology of power or knowledge. It first studies the sexualised bodies and Sebald's accounts of power, and then demonstrates how Sebald dramatises the limits of discipline. The chapter ends by discussing the disciplinary archive, which is susceptible to failure from within.
