This chapter examines a few concepts related to the ‘auto-’ of deconstruction. The first is auto-affection, which occurs at the same time as exposure and hetero-affection. It is then followed by auto-immunity, specifically the auto-immunity of the unscathed, which helps in associating Science and Religion. It also studies ‘auto-craties’ and the ‘auto-deconstructive force’ of democracy. The chapter also presents brief accounts of the author's experiences with Derrida in automobiles.
