This chapter explores the process of subjectivising the ‘event’ within Plato's dialogues. It highlights the relation between the Republic and the rest of Plato's dialogues and provides an account of what makes Socrates the name for that which participates and the Republic the name for that which is participated in. It argues that Plato did not consider Socrates as the just man and the Republic as the just city.
