After Angelina and Thomas Weld married, they returned immediately to work. They were determined to show that marriage would not lessen Angelina's involvement in reform activities. Their activities were continually marked with strong resistance and support. The time was to come when the sisters would remove themselves from active involvement and enjoy some peaceful time. This period is marked by a change in the sisters' relationship with their mother. As they felt closer to their mother, they also felt an urgency to covert her from the sin of slavery.
